The adoption process was very straightforward. Facility was organized and clean. The staff was very nice, they answered all the questions we had.
We ended up taking "Eclipse" home. (5mo black domestic short-hair). My partner and I settled on the name "Mira." She seems to naturally respond well to her new name.
Mira was a little shy at first, which is understandable. Already potty-trained, gentle with her claws, and doesn't bite. We have been giving her lots of love and the space she needs to develop and feel comfortable in her new home. Fast forward one week, and now she's a little cuddle monster. ❤️
We appreciate all the help. Thanks!
We adopted three ferrets.
The facility was clean. They answered all our questions
They allowed time to visit
They did a thorough interview with us. We learned the animals history
They did a careful check on us, the adoption fees were more than fair given the animals were given exams, and came neutered
We thought the employees were educated, kind, patient.
We were impressed with every aspect of our experience
If we ever needed to surrender, I would do so without hesitation
If we look to enlarge our family, I would go back without hesitation
This is my cat that I adopted from the shelter. She is such a blessing. She is very sweet and good company for me. The shelter is a good place to find a pet. They take really good of all their animals that are there to be adopted. I would recommend them for any one looking for a pet to adopted.
Champaign Humane Society is a great place to adopt your forever pet. They made our experience from the start effortless and continue to provide problem solving solutions to ease the transition of pet ownership.
I highly recommend the Humane Society as a great place to find your pet.
Staff is very friendly and kind, the facility was clean and the animals well cared for. The adoption process was very easy. They give full disclosure on all the animals before an application is filled out. This meant we were fully aware that our new kitten had some yeast in her ears before we applied to adopt her, and they explained how to treat it and clean her ears before she came home with us. They give plenty of after adoption resources so if you run into any problems you know where to go to find the right assistance. Staff was wonderful at answering any questions I had. We absolutely love our newest family member and she settled in wonderfully! This is our second adoption through the Champaign County Humane Society and I doubt it will be our last 😊
We adopted Kimchi (government name - Mellow Yellow) in 2021. The facility was BEAUTIFUL, clean, and the people were so kind. It was evident from the moment we arrived that the staff cares deeply about the animals. Kimchi had been returned three times before he came home with us, and they were honest with us about his background. They were so kind with taking time and making space so we could bring our sometimes reactive dog with us to meet him. They were so communicative with us in the process leading up to adoption and even checked in after he had been adopted to see how he is doing. 2 years later - we are still head over heels in love with our sweet baby bear.
This place is a haven for animals who have had a hard beginning. If we hadn’t moved 1800 miles away - all our animals would come from here. They are the best.
They are very accommodating from letting us play with the kittens to adopting them. The going home process with the adopted pet is very good, they told us about the complete information about our new cat and gave us free science diet food. If we have a house we would adopt more cats from them! This shelter is clean and the staff are nice.
We visited with Saffron several times before we were able to take her home to join our family. During each visit, the staff was encouraging, helped us figure out how to introduce her to our other pets, spent time showing us how to work with her. It was a wonderful experience.
